Bring You To Work
Michael heads up an innovative law firm. He told me one reason he became an entrepreneur was so he could create a business where he was able to show up as the real him. Nowhere else he’d worked allowed him to be truly himself at work — so he started a business where he could be just that. The other day I heard about an investor who looks for interesting criteria in the founders she’s considering backing — she wants them to be “their compelling selves”. It’s stuff that matters. The best experiences in my life have been those where I have been able to be me. The future is going to demand we spend more of our time at work. Don’t you agree with Michael, with the investor, with me — that life’s too short to put on a mask every day and hide our real selves?
